Welcome to the first JP Banking Solutions (JPBS) blog. We'll be using this forum to discuss issues in our industry and the specialist banking sectors we serve. We hope to feature guest bloggers in the future to give a balanced picture of the market.
This seems a logical place to start. Our direct client contacts are a combination of hiring managers and in-house human resources specialists who understand their organisations and the challenges of successful recruitment. They have access to the online tools that we do so how do we justify our partnership role? There are several key elements to a recruitment firm and if they are absent it is very hard to justify our existence. Let’s have a look:
The modern HR professional has various responsibilities which makes it hard to focus on recruitment alone. When working in large organisation even a recruitment expert will encounter specialist vacancies that they aren’t completely comfortable with. Firms like JPBS have in-depth knowledge of narrow sectors and a huge extended network of potential candidates who it wouldn’t be practical for an in-house team to keep in touch with. That knowledge means we are well placed to offer a great service to candidates and clients alike and can make the recruitment process smooth and professional for all concerned, including the candidates who are unsuccessful in the process. This gives a good impression of the client organisation.
Some companies have the impression that recruitment companies are driven by sales alone and will do anything to “blag” a meeting or get some CVs in front of someone. Sadly this has been true in the past and probably still is in some cases. We know that there are many firms like ours that look at candidates as people and not commodities. We have long-standing relationships in our specialist sectors and are happy to see our candidates' careers progressing well. We have the same partnership approach with our clients and wouldn’t dream of sending through a torrent of unsuitable CVs. We are here to ensure the candidates you meet are good matches both technically and culturally.
A genuine consultant has expertise drawn from meaningful experience and can offer insight and creative solutions. Our team has the experience required to bring real value to our clients’ organisations and in situations where we think a better solution lies elsewhere we say so. Integrity is the vital ingredient that can be missing in our industry.
So to answer the question: If the consultancy has real “consultants” with specialist expertise and a long term collaborative approach, then, why not?
